Shirley Wittman

Shirley "Maxine" Poplin Wittman, 60 years of age, of Richfield, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at Carolina Specialty Hospital in Charlotte. Maxine was born December 23, 1953 in Stanly County to the late Ted Blanton Poplin and Martha Coble Poplin. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Frank Saunders, will be at 3 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle. She is survived by her husband, Edwin Wittman of Richfield; daughters, Ruby Morton and husband, Jesse, and Shirley Wittman; son, Ted Wittman and wife, Karon all of Albemarle; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn Helms, Kathy Almond and Doris Love all of Stanfield; and aunt Fannie Heigler of Locust.
