Simeona Dealagdon

Simeona DeAlagdon, age 98, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019, in Harrisburg, North Carolina. She was born October 20, 1920, in Calbiga, Samar, Philippines, a daughter of the late Frotoso Gaborne and Basilia Labid Gaborne. Simeona was a farmer during her early life. During World War II, she supported the Allies in the voluntary Philippine Army. In 1981, she was widowed. She immigrated to the United States in 1991. Simeona enjoyed growing everything from flowers to vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, weaving, and watching boxing. She loved spending time with her family, children, grandchildren, and friends who brought her so much joy and happiness.

Simeona is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio DeAlagdon; brothers, Ferman, Fernando, and Marcos Gaborne; sisters, Silvina Gaborne; daughter, Deloris Nepomuceno; and son-in-laws,  Miguel Nepomuceno and Pablo Rebucas.

Survivors include her sister, Tamasa Fernandez; five daughters, Gloria Rebucas, Glaceria "Grace" Sanborn and husband Anthony "Tony" Sanborn, Lenora "Nora" Igong-Igong and husband Serapin, Elena Klodnicki and husband Billy, and Emily Schwalbauch; son, Antonio DeAlagdon Jr. and wife Joselin; grandchildren, Hector Nepomuceno, Lisa Nepomuceno, Grace Nepomuceno, Narissa Nepomuceno, Tissie Nepomuceno, Emilda Rebucas, Pablo Rebucas Jr., Arnel Rebucas, Junny Rebucas, Hermenia Rebucas, Erlinda Rebucas, Elizabeth Sanborn and husband Jeffrey Williams, Iyrenne Igong-Igong, Noel Igong-Igong and wife Jemibelle, Lea Igong-Igong, Analisa DeAlagdon, Kharen DeAlagdon, Anthony "Anton" DeAlagdon, Tiffany Schwalbauch, Christina Schwalbauch, Timothy John "T.J." Schwalbauch; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 22, 2019, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, NC. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 12:15 PM at Hartsell. The graveside service will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC.
