Spencer Ritchie

Spencer Lee Ritchie, 71, of Harrisburg died Thursday, August 13, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center in Concord, NC . The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, August, 16, 2009 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Concord. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, August 17, 2009 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Doug Agnew and the Rev. Marvin Tyson officiating. Entombment at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum, Kannapolis. Military honors will be offered by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Ritchie was born July 18, 1938 in Cabarrus County the son of the late Ernest Lee Ritchie and the late Cora Lee Sheehan Ritchie. He was a graduate of Harrisburg High School and Wingate College and he retired from Harris Teeter as a store manager. He was a Sunday school teacher, Deacon, Boy Scout mentor and a volunteer firefighter with the Harrisburg VFD and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Rocky River Presbyterian Church and Church of the Cross, which is now Grace Church. Survivors include his wife, Frances Louise Teeter Ritchie of Harrisburg; son, William Ritchie and wife Athena of Concord; daughter, Jennifer Ritchie of Hope Mills; sister, Betty Eudy of Monroe; grandson, Ryan Ritchie; and a number of nieces and nephews.
