Steven Nearhood

Steven Michael Nearhood, 51, of Concord, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019.

Steve was born February 9, 1968 in Warsaw, NY to Michael Nearhood and Velma Bean Wagner.  He was preceded in death by step-father, Richard Wagner.

Steve loved working at Blythe Construction for 25 years as an Asphalt Plant Manager.  In his freetime, Steve was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and pool shark.  Steve, "Baby Boy," enjoyed spoiling his trophy wife, "Sexy," with extravagant vacations.  Steve's baby blue eyes would welcome everyone into his humongous heart.  He had a great sense of humor and was great to get along with.  Steve was a loving husband, father, Paw Paw "Papa," and son.  Kathy and the grandchildren were the center of his universe.

In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by beloved wife, Kathy Schiske Nearhood; daughters, Heather (Scott) Smith and Melissa Schiske; grandchildren, Austin, Madison, Corbin and Hunter; brothers, Doug Nearhood and Scott (Sally) Nearhood; sister, Deneen Nearhood; partner-in-crime, Phil "Homey" Addison; beloved cat, Lucy Girl; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Steve's life will be held 6:00 pm, Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Concord.  The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
