Susan Lynn Strouse Harwood, age 57, of 1511 Melchor Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on September 13, 2010 at CMC Main in Charlotte. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Wednesday from 6 to 8. At other times the family will be at her home. Funeral service will be at Central UMC, where she was a member, on Thursday at 11 AM. Rev. Mark Weekly will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle. Born in Polk County, Florida on August 03, 1953, she is the daughter of the late George Kehne Strouse and Annette Cole Dunham Strouse of Elizabethtown, NC. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Jim Harwood of the home; daughter, Jamie Harwood Hraczo and husband Corey of Albemarle; son, James Alexander “Alex” Harwood, II of Albemarle; brother, Steve Strouse of Leland, NC; sisters, Debbie Ayscue of Louisburg, NC, Kim Tatum of Franklinton, NC, Terri Raynor and Tracie Strouse both of Elizabethtown, NC; grandchildren, Geordyn Lynn, “Gigi” and Corey Alexander, “Xander”. She was a homemaker. Heaven has gained a remarkable angel. Susan Harwood was a well known lady in our hometown community and known for her volunteer work with the schools, support for all the children, and being an amazing mother, wife, and friend.
