Susan Lawhon

Susan Frances Lawhon, 68, of Polkton, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at her home.

Susan was born May 8, 1954 in Mecklenburg County to the late "Charles" Craven Kiker and the late Mary Frances Kiker. In addition to her husband, James Ellis Lawhon, she was also preceded in death by her grandfather, Fred Jones Kirk; grandmother, Nora Mae Kirk, and former husband Steve Thomas.

The family will hold a private memorial service at later date.

Susan enjoyed family and the outdoors. She also loved animals dearly. Susan also owned and operated "Susan's Place" of Wadesboro, and the "Fast Shop" of Burnsville for many years. She was a hard worker and loved her customers.

Survivors include her children, John (Connie) Thomas, Kimberly (Chuck) Polson and Jamie Lawhon. Grandchildren, Tabitha Thomas, Levi Thomas, Marissa Polson and Taylor Snyder.
