Susanne Melton

Susanne Brafford Melton, 82, of Concord, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Pinehurst on Monday, June 27, 2022.

Susie was born November 12, 1939, in Concord to the late Frank Rogers Brafford and the late Alma Louise Goodman Brafford.  She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Thomas Morrison Melton; and brother, Len Rogers Brafford.

Susie spent many years as a nanny, leaving a loving, positive impression on all of the children in her care.  She was a past member of Mount Carmel Methodist Church in Concord.

Survivors include daughter, Shea Carroll, and husband, David, of Pinehurst; grandsons, Nicholas Carroll of Chapel Hill and Brafford Carroll of Pinehurst; sister, Frankie Phillips of Concord; and special friend, Mary Weaver of Concord.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.  The memorial service in celebration of Susie's life will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Thad Brown.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Joe Phillips for all the care and support he provided to Susie over the past four years.
