Sybil Mcintyre

 Sybil Efird McIntyre, 80 years of age, of Norwood, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at her home.

Mrs. McIntyre was born April 14, 1936 in Stanly County to the late Wilbur Spurgeon Efird and Ila Belle Efird. She was also preceded in death by her son, Phillip McIntyre and a brother Wilbur Efird.

Sybil was the best wife and mother in the world. She was a wonderful caregiver to her son, Phil for 53 years. She enjoyed spending time with her two "granddaughters", D.J. and Presley. Sybil had a deep abiding love for her cats and dogs, Penny, Mickey, Willy, Maggie and Gracie.

The funeral service will be on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Aquadale Baptist Church at 32871 Church Rd in Norwood officiated by Rev. Jimmy Hudson and Pastor Craig Scott. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the burial.

Survivors include husband of 61 years, George Emory McIntyre, Jr.; sister, Merle Boone of Peachland; brother, Roger Efird and wife Ann of Oakboro, sister-in-law, Zannie Efird, and special friends of the family, Danny and Julie Poplin and their daughters, D.J. and Presley.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
