Sylvia Sherrill

Sylvia Ann Mann Sherrill, 81, of Concord, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Sylvia was born September 29, 1940, in Concord, North Carolina to the late Pearl Jerome Mann and the late Rennie Elizabeth Mann.  She was also preceded in death by her half-sisters Maggie Sides and Grace Harrell.

She was known as Sylvia to some, Peanut to others, but Granny by most.  She endeared her family and friends with her unconditional love, kindness and the biggest heart.  Family was everything to her and you knew that just by talking to her.  Sylvia’s love was everlasting and will forever live in our hearts.

Peanut spent the good part of 20 years in the Cabarrus County school system.  Doing so she was able to look after her two grandsons Brad and Dustin as they grew up. But they were not the only ones she was able to look after. She touched many young lives and became mentors to some. Being able to be there for some of those children filled her heart tremendously. In her free time, you could find her out in the garden or sitting in the rocking chair reading her bible.

Survivors include, daughter Debbie Hunsucker of Concord, NC; son, Rodney Sherrill of Kannapolis, NC; grandsons, Dustin Hunsucker, Brad Hunsucker and Kameron Sherrill; granddaughters, Dakota Sherrill and Nicki Furman.

The family will receive friends from 11am - 12pm, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord.The funeral service will follow in the chapel, officiated by Rev. Don Burleyson. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.
