Sylvia Smith

Sylvia Latrue Smith, 77, Albemarle, NC passed away on February 15, 2011 at Lutheran Home of Albemarle. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home Friday, February 18 from 7-9 PM. The service will be held Saturday, February 19 at 11 AM at Hillside Baptist Church, with a 30-minute state. Burial will follow at Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Steve Ferguson will officiate the service. Mrs. Smith was born in Stanly County on January 13, 1934 to the late William and Hattie Smith. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers, Harvey, Curtis, Vons, Clifford, James, Robert, and Hoyle “Shorty” Smith; and sister, Opal Treece. Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons Lee Jay Smith Jr. and wife Werdena of Madison, AL, Larry Wayne Smith and wife Linda of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Sarah, Courtney, and Scott Smith, Michelle Smith, and Kimberly Thomas; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Smith family.
