Ted Garris
June 15, 1941 — April 9, 2014
Ted Lendell Garris Sr., 72 years of age, of Albemarle, went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
Mr. Garris was born June 15, 1941 in Albemarle to the late Hugh Christian Garris and the late Letha Louise Garris .
He was also preceded in death by brother, Sherrill Garris.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, April 11, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle and will be officiated by Rev. Mickey Howard. Burial will follow at the Dunns Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include wife, Mahalia Garris of Albemarle, son, Ted (Myra) Garris Jr. of Richfield, two daughters, Jill (Todd) Comer of New London, and Julie (Rick) Laton of Albemarle; brother, Jerry Garris of Albemarle; six grandchildren, Cody and Taylor Garris, Daniel and Jacob Comer, and Hailey and Ryan Laton.
He retired from Alcoa after 30 years of service. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Oakboro, where he was active as a Sunday School teacher.
