Teresa “Dink” Lorene Benfield Harrison, 79, of Concord, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012, at her home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Thursday, August 23, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A mass of Christian burial, officiated by Father Joseph Dionne, will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 139 Manor Avenue SW, Concord, NC 28025, on Friday, August 24, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery on Monday, August 27, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Teresa was born on March 2, 1933, to the late Everett G. Benfield and the late Margaret Kellough Benfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years who died in 1981, Billy King Harrison; a daughter, Teresa Harrison Sanders; two brothers, Everette and Glen Benfield; and two sisters, Stella Myers and Zana Gabriel. She is survived by a daughter, June Harrison “Dean” Ward and husband, Bill; three brothers, Woodrow W. Benfield and Joseph D. Benfield, both of Concord and Robert Benfield of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Maxine Phillips of Concord; and two grandchildren, Sarah Ward Ritter and husband, Matt of Concord and Julia Ward and finance, Jason Stone of Lincolnton. Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church Cemetery Fund at the address above. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Harrison family.
