Terry Akins

Terry Wayne Akins, 62 years of age, of Locust, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. Terry was born October 16, 1950 in Stanly County to the late Joseph William Akins, Sr. and the late Violet Adeline Wyke Akins. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Craig Sefa officiating. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Teressa Lynn Eudy Akins of the home; daughters, Tangi Teague and husband Kevin of Newton, and Tiffani Saffell and husband Brent of Concord; step-daughter, Ashley Horton of Locust; step-son, Brad Floyd of Locust; six grandchildren; and brothers, Joe Akins of Concord, and Danny Akins and wife Amanda of Albemarle. Terry worked for General Electric as a service technician for over 30 years, and was a member of Locust United Methodist Church.
