Terry Harris Cooke

Terry Harris Cooke, 71, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024 at her home in Charlotte.

Terry was born August 12, 1952 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late John Irvin Harris and the late Cordia Louise Harris. She was also preceded in death by and her beloved husband, Maylon Cooke.

 She was a graduate from AL Brown high school. She went on to earn her  Bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina at Charlotte in political science.  Terry worked as an It tech, and retired from Quicken Loans.  She loved to read, shop, and talk. Christmas was her favorite! Truth be told, she never met a stranger and could make friends every where she went. 

Survivors include daughter, Amy Werley and husband, Nate of Charlotte, NC; son, Andy Wagner and wife Karen of Rockwell, NC; grandchildren, Alex Helms and wife Emilia, Jonathan Helms, and Kane Wagner; brother, Rick Harris and his children, Ashleigh Griffin and John Harris. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 11:45 am, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg officiated by Pastor Eddie Barbee.
