Tevis Pinkerton
August 3, 1953 — October 3, 2017
Tevis Stow Pinkerton, 64, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 after a 2 year, 8 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Tevis was born August 3, 1953 in North Carolina to the late Rufus Stow Pinkerton and Alma Elizabeth Clark.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home, 12115 University City Blvd., Harrisburg, NC 28075. The funeral service will be on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1 pm at Newell Presbyterian Church in Charlotte officiated by Matt Conner. Burial will follow at the Sharon Memorial Park.
Survivors include his mother, Alma Elizabeth Clark Pinkerton of Charlotte, NC; brother, Reginal Pinkerton, wife Melissa of Cleveland, VA; nephew Brad Pinkerton, wife Emily and great niece, Nora of Charlotte, NC, niece Melissa Pinkerton of Chicago, IL; and Tevis' love of 47 years and caregiver, Freida Morrison and his precious Irish setter, Logan.
Tevis retired from AT&T as a lineman with 36 years of service. Tevis loved the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, rebuilding Cub Cadets, classic cars, his farm animals, camping and shag dancing. Many wonderful memories were made with "our family" of Boppers Shag Club.
Tevis was a member of Newell Presbyterian Church. His continuous faith and service was an inspiration to many people. Tevis will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
