Thelma L Olinger, 90 years of age, of Concord, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at Brookdale Clare Bridge in Concord.
Thelma was born September 2, 1926 in Pennsylvania to the late Ed and Bird Smithley. She was also preceded in death by husband of 56 years, John Samuel Olinger. Also, preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Brown, and her brother's, George, Gene, Bill, Sam, and Virgil Smitley.
She was a wife, mum, gram/nanny, and game-show enthusiast. She never saw: a piece of cake she didn't want to eat, a baby she didn't want to hold, a card game she didn't want to play, and pink nail polish she didn't want to buy.
She is survived by her daughter Jackie and son-in-law Bill Zearley, her daughter Shari Mattingly, her grandchildren Julie Bird (David), Michael Zearley, Katie Mattingly, and Sam Mattingly (Sarah), her great-grandson Liam Bird, many nieces and nephews, and friends

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 20th, at Kerr Street United Methodist Church, 406 Kerr Street NW, Concord, NC 28025.
