Thelma Jewel Treece Plyler, age 84, of 385 Park Rd., Albemarle, NC 28001 passed away on November 22, 2011 at her home. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 12 noon at First Presbyterian Church, Albemarle. Rev. Elizabeth Ayscue will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service in the church parlor. At other times the family will be meeting at her home. Mrs. Plyler was born January 21, 1927, to the late Ausby T. Treece and the late Mamie B. Treece. She was also preceded in death by one brother, A. J. Treece. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fred Price Plyler, of the home; two daughters, Fredia Malarkey and husband, Ned, of Richmond, VA., and Susan Jones, and husband, Mike, of Concord, NC; one brother, Ben Treece, and wife, Gwyn, of Albemarle, NC; one sister, Ruby Mitchell of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren, Megan Goodwin, Kathryn Pruett, Emily Jones, Scott Jones, Betsy Jones; and one great grandson, Nolan Pruett; and one sister-in-law, June Treece. Mrs. Plyler worked as secretary for First Presbyterian Church in Albemarle for many years. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, cooking, and traveling. She loved her family and was a deeply devoted wife and mother. The family wishes to extend a special thank you from the entire family to all of the ladies who provided care filled with compassion and love to their beloved wife and mother.
