Theodore Bradley Mello

December 2, 2015 — January 22, 2024

Concord

It is with the most profound grief that we share our beautiful son, Theodore Bradley Mello, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, peacefully at home in the arms of his mom and dad.

Theo was born December 2, 2015, in Huntersville, NC, to Maximilian and Samantha Mello.  Theo is also survived by his little sister, Liliana "Lilly" Mello; paternal grandparents, George and Carol Mello; maternal grandparents, Donna and Gary Blythe; uncle and aunt, Robbie and Kristen Byrd; cousins, McAllister, Addie, and Maddy Byrd; many great aunts and uncles; godmother, Ellena Williams; and beloved dogs, Ruger and Penny.

Theo was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Larry Preston Byrd; paternal great-grandparents, Bill and Wilma Bradley.

In his eight years of life, Theo touched so many hearts and brought so much joy to everyone who knew him.  His love of the outdoors and camping will be part of his legacy that our family will continue as we keep his memory alive within us.  His joyful smile and bright blue eyes will live in our hearts forever.

Every time we see the sunlight glittering through the tree leaves, we’ll know it’s you, son, shining your lovely light down on us.  And we will hold onto that light until we’re together again.

Theo was loved by so many, but none could compare to his sister, Lilly.  The love they shared was such a special gift.  Please pray for our family, our care team and most especially, pray for Lilly.

Luke 23:43- And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Theo's Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  The Mello Family is receiving condolences at their home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree in Theo's memory or making a memorial donation to Carolina Caring Cardinal Kids Hospice Program at https://www.carolinacaring.org/give;  Please include a comment with Theo’s name and donation for their Children’s Family Support Program, as this was critical to our family.

The Mello family would like to thank all of Theo's care team throughout the years, especially Missy Shumaker, Nicole Baker, and Rachel Harkey.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Mello family.
