Thomas Little

Tom Little, 89, devoted husband of Aileen Williams Little, passed away at Tucker Hospice House on September 18. He was the son of Will Jarvis Little and Maude Alice Little. He was born in Stanfield on October 2, 1920. Tom married Aileen Williams on September 6, 1947 at McGill Street Baptist Church where he was a devoted member, usher, and deacon. A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, he served in England and Egypt during WWII. He was a Charter Member and Secretary of the Optimist Club of Concord. In 1948, he co founded with his father in law, C.R. Williams, and co owned Williams & Little Hardware until his retirement in 1988. He than began working with his son and son in law at Fuller Supply until his illness. Mr. Little was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hubert and Hoyle; and sister, Josephine Sossoman. He is survived by his wife, Aileen, of 63 years; son, Tom Little, II (Carol), of Charlotte; daughter, Susan Bethune (Alex), of Concord; grandchildren, McNeill, Ali, and Annabeth Bethune, Kelly and Kimberly Little; brother, W.J. (Dub) Little, Jr., of Jackson, NC. The family would like to thank Anna, Gail, Paula, Lisa, Rebecca, and all the dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff of Tucker Hospice House. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Monday, September 20 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm followed by a service in the chapel with Rev. Steve Ayers officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery with full military rites performed by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard.
