Thomas Benton "Buddy" Ludwig, Jr., 88 years of age, of New London, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
Mr. Ludwig was born September 10, 1927 in Salisbury to the late Thomas Benton Ludwig and the late Willa Mae Whisnant Ludwig. In addition to his parents, Buddy was also preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Nancy Jane Story Ludwig. She went to be with her Lord and Savior August 13, 2015. He was of the Christain faith.
In years past Buddy held several occupations such as owning his own welding business in Salisbury, retired form Daniel's Contruction Company, auctioneered in the 70's and 80's, co-owned Ludwig's Variety Store with his wife Nancy, and together they worked at Rockingham Flea Market. He was a member of the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge in Salisbury. Buddy also served our country as a Merchant Marine during World War II.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Lick Creek Baptist Church, Lick Creek Church Rd. Denton, NC, officiated by Rev. Steve Kiger and Rev. Sandy Young.
Survivors include one son, T.B. Ludwig and wife Carol of Rocky Mount, NC; two daughters, Bennie Ludwig Fraley Barber and husband David of Salisbury, NC, and Susan Cook Lovette and husband Colon of Denton, NC; one grandson, Ollie Jermane; two granddaughters, Kimberley Fraley Redmon, and Cheyenne Jane Lovette; one great-granddaughter, Kaiden Leigh Redmon; one brother-in-law, William Story and wife Carol and his precious little dog Junior.
