Thomas Arthur Mauldin Isaiah 40:31 Thomas Arthur Mauldin of Richfield NC passed away 8:50 p.m. Sept 26,2009 at Stanly Manor Nursing Home in Albemarle NC. Tom was born October 9, 1930 to Arthur Anderson and Nora Belle Scott Mauldin. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Nannie Phillips Mauldin, two sons, Randy Mauldin and wife, Chris of Richfield, Wayne Mauldin and wife Jody of Charlotte, four grandsons, Rick McKenzie and fiancée Dawn Paterniti of Richfield, Brian Mauldin and wife Shannon of Oakboro, Matthew Mauldin and wife Danielle of Richfield and Jake Mauldin of Charlotte and two great granddaughters, Brittany McKenzie and Jenna Mauldin. He is also survived by a sister, Eunice Swaringen of Albemarle. Tom graduated from Aquadale High School in 1948 and he also attended the Institute of Government at the University of North Carolina. Tom served in the U.S. Army as a Radar Maintenance technician during the time of the Korean War. After service in the Army he returned to work at the Highway Division as a License examiner until September 1954 at which time He began work with General Motors Acceptance Corporation where he remained until he retired. On February 24 1956 Tom became a member of the Masonic Lodge where he remained an active member until his death. He was a past Master of the Laurinburg Masonic Lodge. He was a current member of Stanly Masonic Lodge # 348. Tom was active in the community where he served on the Stanly County planning board and the Richfield Water Department board. He was also a member of the Gideonâs. Tom attended Highland Baptist Church where he was an active member. Tom enjoyed traveling with his family. He enjoyed working around the farm on his tractor but his favorite past time was ministering to others. The family will greet friends on Thursday, October 1, 2009 between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. A service to celebrate Tomâs life will follow at 7:30 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Homeâs Lefler Memorial Chapel. Rev. Paul Crews officiating.
