The family meeting place is the home. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Thursday from 6-8pm. A memorial service will be held at Howell’s Baptist Church, Concord, on Friday at 10:00am officiated by Rev. Sid Martin. Born July 3, 1953 in McDowell County, WV, to the late Clarence Andrew and Gertrude Hall Powers. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Troy Artrip. Survived by his wife, Hope Childress Powers, of the home, son Michael Powers of Tega Cay, SC, brother, Fred Powers of Bluefield, WV, and a granddaughter, Rachel Anne Powers.
