Thomas Richards

Thomas Edward Richards, 73, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019 at W. G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.

Mr. Richards was born October 12, 1946 to the late Oscar Deaton and Elsie Virginia Richards.

Thomas was a Vietnam Veteran where he became a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of the VFW post 2023 and the CWA Retired Members Club. He retired from AT&T after 40 years of service to the telecommunications industry and was a long-time member of Harrisburg United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 8, 2019, at 9:00 am, at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., officiated by Rev. De Hillyer.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Kathy Lee Richards; daughter, Amanda Richards; brother, Clyde Deaton Richards and wife Sally; sister, Johnsie "Susie" Faulkner and husband Wade; faithful companion, Bristol.
