Thomas Shelton

Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord Thomas Franklin Shelton of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Tucker Hospice House after an extended illness. Born in Charlotte, TN on May 31 1938, Thomas was the son of the late Felix and Mary Shelton. Tom was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved to garden. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and an IBM retiree. Tom was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Harrisburg. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dixie Taylor Shelton of Harrisburg; sister Sharon Massey and husband Bill of Raleigh, NC; nephew, Jeff Massey and niece Jessica Massey of Raleigh, NC. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 14th at Hartsell Funeral Home, with the visitation one hour prior to the service. Dr. John Cashwell will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Providence Baptist Church building fund: 5315 Hwy 49 S, Harrisburg, NC 28075, or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus Co: 5003 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081.
