Thomas Jarrett Wanamaker, 67 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at CMC-Main in Charlotte. Tom was born August 20, 1945 in Newport, AR to the late Albert Wanamaker and Edna Louise Stroupe Wanamaker. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Cathleen Dawn Wanamaker; and sister, Gail Koker. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Monday, July 22, 2013 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1804 Badin Rd in Albemarle. Rev. Lee Sheluntt and Rev. Doug Petersen will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Salisbury National Cemetery, with Military Honors, at 1 pm. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Lynch Wanamaker; sons, Christian Wanamaker, Thomas Wanamaker Jr. of Kill Devil Hills, NC; daughters, Debbie Faga and husband Tom of Rosanky, TX, Marilee Broadway and husband Doug of Cooleemee, NC, Cathleen Cook and husband Mark of Clayton, NC, Danine White and husband Chuck of Raleigh, NC; brother, David Wanamaker and wife Pam of Zebulon, NC; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Tom greatly loved his wife and children. He was very patriotic, serving his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force and Reserves. He also proudly volunteered as an EMT and Fireman in Locust and New Jersey. He worked as a certified RV technician and electrician.
