Thomas Whaley

Thomas "Pete" Whaley, 83, of Concord, NC, and formerly of New Martinsville, WV, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at home.

Pete was born June 23, 1935 in Monogah, West Virginia to the late Jeryl Whaley and the late Eleanor Lucille Leddy Whaley.  He was also preceded in death by beloved wife of 53 years, Betty Brown Whaley; and brothers, Frankie and Jerry Whaley.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm - 2 pm, Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, WV.  The funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by son-in-law, Jason Linker.  Burial will follow at Paden Memorial Gardens, New Martinsville, WV.

Survivors include daughters, Diana (Dave) Palmer of Sistersville, WV, and Melissa (Jason) Linker of Concord, NC; brother, William "Bill" Whaley of Clarksburg, WV; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-granchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Herman Cemetery Fund, c/o Lorna Phillips, Treasurer, PO Box 12, Hundred, WV 26575.

The family offers a Heartfelt Thank You to Hospice of Cabarrus County for taking such good care of Mr. Whaley.
