Thomas Yost

Thomas Denzel Yost, 74 years of age, of Midland, NC passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord, NC.

Tom was born April 9, 1940 in Farmington, West Virginia to the late Denzel Franklin Yost and the late Bethel Delora Cole Yost Lough. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry and Jim Yost; and step-sister, Loretta Lough Rowand.

The memorial service will be at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Kannapolis Church of Christ, officiated by Kirk Sams. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. A memorial service in West Virginia will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Mannington Church of Christ, 706 E. Main St., Mannington, WV. At other times the family will be gathering at the home, 2775 Lilly Drive in Midland, NC.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Barbara Lee Parrish Yost of the home; daughters, Jodi Lynn Kinney and husband Andre' Renard of Middleburg, VA and Lee Ann Edwards and husband Vincent Mark of Midland; six grandchildren, Renee' Servinsky, Ashley, Lauren, and Jessi Kinney, Chris Yost, and Mark Edwards; step-brother, Marvin Lough of Cleveland, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom worked in communication and retired from AT&T. He enjoyed amateur radio, buying cars, and tinkering with gadgets. Tom loved his family, food and laughter. He enjoyed being with people and socializing.
