Tommy Little Beatty, 69 years of age, of Midland, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center - NorthEast in Concord after a brief illness. Mr. Beatty was born November 10, 1942 in Cabarrus County to the late Jackson Walter Beatty, Sr. and Henrietta Little Beatty. He was also preceded in death by his brother, J. W. Beatty, Jr. He was the owner and operator of Sunbelt Farms on Hwy 200 and Little River Farms in Mt. Gilead. Previously, for 30 years, he was the owner and operator of Sunbelt Tile and Marble. He loved sports, especially Nascar racing and dabbling with land real estate. He was a member of the Union Masonic Lodge #618 of Midland. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m., Wednesday, in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Midland officiated by his niece, Rev. Linda Suggs. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Union Lodge #618. At other times, the family will meet at the home of his daughter, Lisa, at 9420 Hwy. 742, Marshville. Tom is survived by his daughter Lisa Hinson and her husband, Rocky, of Oakboro; his grandsons, Clinton and his wife, Jessica, of Oakboro, Chase Hinson of Oakboro, and Ryan Hinson of Oakboro; a great-grandson, Parker, is due in six weeks; his sisters, Joyce B. Isabell of Spencer, Betty B. King of Baltimore, MD, Nova B. Stephens of Leesville, S. C., Nellie B. Hatley of Locust, and Shirley B. Love and her husband, Buford, of Stanfield; and a special friend, Pat Shelley, of Conway, S. C.
