Tony AC Walter, 90 years of age, of Concord, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Carolina's Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Tony was born April 18, 1925 in Cabarrus County to the late Author Columbus Walter and the late Daisy Tucker Walter. He was also preceded in death by wife of 63 years, Clara Morgan Walter; two brothers, Frank Walter, and Otha Walter; six sisters, Ruby Krimminger, Breecie Talley, Dora Talley, Belle Dixon, Florence Talley, and Hazel Owens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, May 29, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 am at Cold Springs United Methodist Church in Concord and will be officiated by Rev. Mary Hatley, Rev. Leon Hawks, and Rev. Dr. Tony Bell. Burial will follow at Cold Springs United Methodist Cemetery at 2550 Cold Springs Road, Concord.
Tony served his country during WWII in the US Army. Tony was a member of Cold Springs UMC, the United Methodist Men, the Concord Moose Lodge #404, and The American Legion. He retired in 1990 after 46 years at Fieldcrest Cannon.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Wayne (Rita) Walter of Concord, and Terry (Jackie) Walter of Concord; three grandchildren, Amy (Tiger) Measimer, Jeffrey (Carolina) Walter, and Aaron Walter; four great-grandchildren, Laura, Cameron, and Mackenzie Measimer, and Gael Walter, and many nieces and nephews.
