Van Mclain

Van David McLain, 77 years of age, formerly of Midland, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his home in Monroe. David was born June 20, 1936 in Union County to the late George Washington McLain and the late Helen Godfrey McLain. He was also preceded in death by beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara Ann Starnes McLain. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, November 4, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Berea Baptist Church in Stanfield officiated by Rev. Jody Wetta. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times the family will meet at the home of his son, Rodney, 6260 Ray Linker Rd. in Concord. He is survived by his two sons, Dwayne McLain and wife Carman of Waxhaw, and Rodney McLain and wife Colette of Concord; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. David retired as a mechanic from Propst Construction Company, and was a member of Berea Baptist Church. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the McLain family.
