Vaude Kenneth Tucker, Sr., 88 years of age of Stanfield, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Mr. Tucker was born May 21, 1924 in Stanly County to the late Hoyle Doctor Tucker and Agnes Osborne Tucker. He was a graduate of Wingate College, a veteran of the Navy in WW II, and a member of Carolina Presbyterian Church in Locust. The family will receive friends from 7 – 9 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m., Sunday, with a 30 minute state prior to the service, at Carolina Presbyterian Church, 406 Renee Ford Road in Locust. Rev. Michael Cannon and Rev. James Almond will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Graveside military rites will be presented by the Stanly County DAV Chapter 12. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Lillie Drye Tucker of the home; his son, Vaude Kenneth Tucker, Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Denver, NC; his daughter, Karen Tucker Maner of Stanfield; his grandchildren, Vaude Kenneth Tucker, III, and his wife, Tiffany of Murrells Inlet, S. C., Kevin Ray Tucker and his wife, Lauren of Port Washington, NY, and Larry Albert Maner, Jr. of Oakboro; and his great-grandchildren, Tyger Tucker and Talon Tucker of Port Washington, NY.
