Veda Mae Harris Sanford, age 88, of 380 Hatley Circle, Concord, died at Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast on December 2, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Gordon Sanford and her father Rev. John S. Harris and mother Minnie Lou Brooks Harris. Also by her daughter Shirley Ann Sanford. She is survived by her daughters Brenda Sue Cook and husband Skip of Concord, and Etta Marie Wood and husband Jeff of Surfside Beach, SC. She is also survived by her son Gordon Anthony Sanford and wife Frances of Concord, her grandchildren Dawn Cook Biddy and husband Todd, of Concord, Phillip A. Cook and Joelle Wimberly of Kings Mountain, Alan Sanford of Kannapolis, Brent Moose and wife Karen of Kannapolis, Josh Moose and wife Rene of Tanzania, Africa and her great-grandchildren Shawn Morgan, Drew Biddy, Hunter Biddy, Christian Moose, Michael and Kelsey Hunsucker, Jacob Miller, many nieces and nephews, and special friends Denise and Savannah Church. The pallbearers at the service are Phillip A. Cook, Alan Sanford, Brent Moose, Shawn Morgan, Drew Biddy, Todd Biddy and Josh Moose. Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 from 12:30 to 1:45 PM at Brookdale Baptist Church. The service will begin at 2:00 PM at the church. Rev. Mike Hubbard will be officiating. She was a homemaker and was active with the Coltrane Life Center. She was a graduate of Winecoff High School and was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Brookdale Baptist Church Building Fund, 2511 South Ridge Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083 or to Coltrane Life Center, 321 Corban Avenue, SE, Concord, NC 28025.
