Veigh Lambert

February 19, 1939 — August 12, 2021

Norwood

Veigh Harward Lambert, 82, of Norwood, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

Born February 19, 1939, in North Carolina to the late Grady and Elizabeth Harward.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Lambert and wife Myra of  Woodland Park, Colorado, daughter Donna and husband Scott Rogers of Albemarle, and daughter Teresa and husband Tony Parrish of Concord. She was a proud "Granny" to fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren (with three on the way) whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her sister Mattie Stirewalt and brothers Roy Harward, Bill Harward, and Joe Harward.

She is survived by her brother Keith Harward and twin sister Kaye Lambert and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was loved by all.

She grew up in the Aquadale community and graduated from Aquadale High School.  She was a loving mother to her young children and worked in the Aquadale cafeteria. Later, she was employed with Perfect Fit in New London and Rocky River Springs Fish House in Aquadale.

Veigh (pronounced Vay) loved her family with all her heart and loved Jesus even more.  She served the Lord at Bethlehem Baptist Church where she has been attending since it's inception in 1949.  During her time there, she was a choir member, choir director, youth leader, VBS worker, and Sunday School teacher for many years.  She was a spiritual leader to many and their faith was made strong by her walk with the Lord.  She was also a friend and dear companion to many and all who knew her will truly miss this dear lady.  Her family always knew she was praying for them and felt blessed by her faithfulness and love.  Her spiritual legacy lives on in her children and their descendants.

Veigh loved to read her Bible, work in her flower bed and garden, and watch Christian television.  She was also known for her quilt making and crocheting.  Everyone wanted a homemade gift from Granny for Christmas.  Her homemade flapjacks are also worthy of mention.  If someone did something for her, she would make flapjacks, a quilt, or afghan as a thank you.  Everyone who knew her saw what a sweet, loving, humble person she was.  Her peaceful personality brought comfort to many.

Veigh will lie-in-state at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at 4:00 pm, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 32283 Bethlehem Church Road, Norwood, officiated by Rev. Lowell Brown.

Our family would like to thank Hospice of Stanly and The Uwharrie and Atrium Stanly for their compassionate care.

While her presence will be missed, the family knows she is resting in the arms of her beloved Savior.

Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 32283 Bethlehem Church Road, Norwood, NC and to Hospice of Stanly and The Uwharrie, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC
