Venice Furr

Venice "Benny" Furr, 80 years of age, of Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at his home. Mr Furr was born March 29, 1933 in Cabarrus County to the late John Lee Furr and the late Dora Frances Furr . He was also preceded in death by 3 sons: Benny Lane, Alvin, and Darrell Furr. The family will have a memorial service at 11am on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Bethany Bible Church in Kannapolis, NC. Reverend Bobby Sutherland will officiate. Survivors include wife, Shirley Mae Furr of Kannapolis; step -daughters, Debbie (David) Childress of VA and Melissa (Scot) Lowder of Kannapolis; 3 sisters, Ruth Brooks of Midland, Evelyn Hartsell of Midland, and Hazel Coals of Carolina Beach, NC; one brother, Douglas Furr of Carolina Beach, NC; three grandsons David, Derek, and Daniel Childress of VA; one granddaughter Avery Lowder of Kannapolis; and 4 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Bethany Bible Church Building Fund, 623 Juniper Street, Kannapolis NC 28081. Hartsell Funeral Home of concord is serving the Furr family.
