Vera Holt

Vera Bernice Holt, 90 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at her home in Albemarle.

Bernice was born July 30, 1923 in Stanly County to the late Spencer Price "Jack" Holt and the late Esther Mae Kimrey Holt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Spurgeon "Snook" Holt; and brother, Jack Ray Holt.

Bernice and husband, "Snook" owned and operated Holt's Grocery for over 40 year in Albemarle.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Joe Smith will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 25, 2014 in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 East Main Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.

She is survived by son, William Price "Bill" Holt and wife, Nancy of Midland; daughter, Belinda Giordano and husband, Nathan of Oyster Bay, NY; sister, Hazeline Stanley of Hartsville, SC; granddaughters, Donna Giordano, and Stephanie Yarbrough; grandson, David Holt; and five great-grandchildren.
