Vera Honeycutt

Vera Jewell Bowers Honeycutt, 84 years of age, of Albemarle, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at her residence in Albemarle.

Vera was born June 30, 1929 in Stanly County to the late William Monroe Bowers and the late Gertrude Louise Lowder Bowers. She was also preceded in death in 2006 by her husband, DC Honeycutt, son, Dee William "D.W." Huneycutt in 2010 and granddaughter, Jessica Susanne Honeycutt.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, March 31, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Mark Mabry will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Canton Baptist Church, 24615 Endy Road, Albemarle, NC. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by sons, Darrell Honeycutt, Herbert "Hub" Honeycutt and wife, Susan, Dwight "Ike" Huneycutt and wife, Heather and DC Huneycutt Jr. and wife, Kristie all of Albemarle; daughters, Brenda Harkey and husband, Larry of Mt. Pleasant, Kay Helms and fiance, Lee Davis, Connie Dennis and husband, Mike "Bongo" and Julie Souther and husband, Dennis all of Albemarle and Bonnie Brown and husband, Chris of Troy; 29 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

At other times the family will be gathering at her home.
