Vergie James

Ms. Vergie Maxwell James, 91, of 493 Cook Street NW, Concord, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis. Born on July 11, 1918, she was the daughter of the late George Wallace Maxwell and Pauline Seamone Hartman. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord on Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Ronald Hartman and Rev. Jim Posey officiating. Internment will be at Oakwood Cemtery. The family meeting place will be at 1620 Irish Potato Road, Concord. Vergie was a member of McGill Avenue Baptist Church and was a retired dietary specialist from CMC NorthEast. She is preceeded in death by husband, Duncan Woodrow James as well as her parents. She is survived by son, Otis Ray Holmes and wife, Wanda, of Oak Island, NC; brothers, George Wallace Maxwell and John Hartman Jr., both of Concord; step grandchildren, Johnny King, of Concord and Jack King, of Mt.
