Verna Duncan

Verna Rose Johnson Duncan, 90, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013. Mrs. Duncan was born January 20, 1923 in Sparta, N. C., to the late Glen Fieldon Johnson and Cora Lee Kennedy Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ketchel Calvin Duncan. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 26, at 2:00 p.m., at Kennedy Cemetery in Sparta, NC. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Kathryn Basnight (Leslie) of Raleigh and Cheryl Marshall (Keith) of Charlotte; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The Kennedy Cemetery Fund, in care of Carol Kennedy, 647 Turkey Knob Road, Sparta, NC 28675. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Duncan family.
