Vernie Morton

Vernie Lee Mauldin Morton age 95 of 24028 Old Aquadale Rd, Albemarle, NC passed away Monday, Feb 22, 2010 at Stanly Manor. She was born October 24, 1914 in Stanly County, NC. She attended Union Grove Bapt Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Alexander Morton in 1994 and her father and mother, Benjamin and Vassie Smith Mauldin and son, Bobby Lee Morton, one deceased brother, George Mauldin and two deceased sisters, Opal Hudson and Gladys Drye. She is survived by son- Glenn Morton and wife Peggy of Albemarle; daughter- Louvine M. Bowers of Albemarle- Grandchildren-Lisa Casey, Glenda Coral, great-grandchildren- Keisah Corl, Candace Clark, Jesse and Taylor Casey and sister-Edith Coble of Oakboro, NC. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. Funeral service will be graveside at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.. Rev. Lee Church officiating. The family will meet at the home of daughter, Louvine Bowers, 24024 Old Aquadale Rd, Albemarle, NC. Memorials may be made to Cemetery Fund, Union Grove Baptist Church.
