Vernon Curlee

Vernon Wendell Curlee, 69, of Albemarle, passed away at 11:57, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at NorthEast Hospital in Concord.

Services will take place on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Red Cross Baptist Church in Oakboro, officiated by Rev. Jesse Herring and Rev. Garry Baker. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Wendell was born on December 9, 1948 in North Carolina to the late Vernon Lee and Viola Hatley Curlee,  In addition to his parents, he was also proceded in death by his sister, Judy Gale Hubbard.
He enjoyed over 40 years working with the ARC program in Stanly County.

Wendell is survived by his guardian and brother-in-law, Marion Frank Hubbard, and his first cousin Carolyn Hill both of Oakboro, NC.

Special thanks are to be extended to Susan Eudy and other caregivers, over the years, from Monarch. Susan was a faithful caregiver for eight years they had a special bond for one another.
All the neighbors at the Edward Whitley Duplex, particularly Christy Biles & her family are thanked, as well as, the staff at Stanly Manor.
