Vesta Whitley

Mrs.Vesta Lee Morgan Whitley, 90 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at CMC Northeast in Concord, NC .
Vesta was born June 8, 1923 in Stanly County to the late Joseph Henry Morgan and the late Flora Harward. She was also preceded in death by husband, Dillon Efird Whitley, five sisters, and one brother.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary and will be officiated by the Rev. Don Phillips. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include sons, Joseph (Myra) Whitley of Albemarle and Mark (Pam) Whitley of Oakboro; daughter, Joan (Don) Underwood of Albemarle; grandsons, Ben (Lauren) Underwood of Oakboro, John (Kristen) Underwood of Oakboro, Tyler Whitley of Oakboro, Brian Whitley of Raleigh, NC, and Dillon James Whitley of Raleigh, NC; two granddaughters, Carrie W. (Chris) Lisenby of Albemarle, and Brooke W. (Michael) Smolka of San Antonio, TX; two step grandchildren, Dusty (Alison) Clontz and Brian (Candice) Clontz, both of Albemarle; seven great grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren.
