Vicky Burleson

Vicky Jo Lowder Burleson, 64, of 21794 Carriker Road, Albemarle, passed away, January 26, 2012 at her home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Sunday at 4 pm at Pine Grove UMC. Rev. Tom Schnitzlein, Rev. Ron Dry and Rev. Adam Hatley will officiate and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born July 3, 1947 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Penny B. Lowder and the late Jay Solomon Lowder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Alan Burleson in 1998 and by two sisters, Sybil Lowder Vick and Wanda Lowder Vick and her husband, Joe Vick. She was bookkeeper for Dean’s Ready Mix and a longtime member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church. She is survived by sons, Corey A. Burleson and wife Reva Maner Burleson and Dale E. Burleson and wife Angela Huneycutt Burleson all of Albemarle; brother Roger B. Lowder and wife Ginger; sister, Pam Lowder Martin and husband, Tommy; brothers in law, James Vick of New London and Roger Burleson and wife Julie of Alabama. There are also many nieces and nephews that were special to her. She was Nana to grandchildren: Evin Burleson, Alec Burleson, Laton Burleson, and Leah Burleson all of Albemarle. She is also survived by three special families; Linda Heartherly, Warren and Angie Davis, and Lora and Rusty Kimble. Memorials may be made to Endy Optimist Club, 24469 Endy Road, Albemarle, NC 28001.
