Vincent “Vinnie" Joseph D'Andrea, 68, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019.
Vinnie was born November 21, 1950 in Stamford, CT, to the late Prisco Frank D'Andrea and the late Lucille Baia D'Andrea. He was also preceded in death by his brother Frank D’Andrea who passed away on June 23, 2019.
If you knew Vinnie, then you knew his mustache. Vinnie was a charismatic, funny and warm man. He could command a room upon entering and had no problem being the center of the conversation. Vinnie was at his best when telling stories and could make any otherwise benign event sound extravagant. He started his career as a plumber at the ripe age of 17 and forged many of his lifelong relationships through the industry. He had the opportunity to work on countless major construction projects serving the lives of many people. From schools to arenas, stadiums and government buldings, his legacy will live on through the places he put his own touch on.
Vinnie was a little league baseball coach and umpire, but he may have been his happiest in the stands watching the games and chumming it up with the other parents. Some hobbies include fishing, music, video games, laughing and sci-fi; his most recent hobbies such as Drones, RC cars and most noteworthy his jewelry making talents. His favorite movie is Star Wars and his favorite TV show was Star Trek: The Next Generation, he loved 70's rock and Vernors Ginger Ale. He was probably most happy paying a visit to Disney's Epcot and visiting the Mexico pavilion with family. He married his bride Mary Ellen on 7.7.7 in Delray Beach, FL and hit the jackpot. He was also a doting fur baby Daddy. Vinnie was a member of Union Masonic Lodge #618, a Shriner and a member of the Cabarrus Shrine Club in Kannapolis. In his later years, he owned D'Andrea Enterprises and was proud to provide mechanical estimates for companies. He lived for his family and grandkids and will leave a lasting legacy in their lives forever.
