Virginia Cochran

Virginia Lucille Measmer Cochran, 88 years of age, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at her home in Concord.

She was born May 18, 1926 in Cabarrus County to the late James Andrew Measmer and the late Mattie Kee Measmer . She was also preceded in death by her husband Lewis (Bud) Martin Cochran on May 9, 2009, her son, Jimmy Mack Cochran, and brothers James, Howard (Shorty) and Billy (Bob) Measmer.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, Friday, July 25, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Roberta Baptist Church in Concord, officiated by Pastor Steve Pennington. Burial will follow at the Cochran Cemetery on Roberta Church Road.

Survivors include daughter, Judy Helms and husband Jerrell of Concord; son, Martin Graylon Cochran and wife Vickie of Concord; daughter in law, Marlene Cochran Cook; granddaughters, Charitie Drye and husband Jeff, Krissy Cochran and Misty Freenman and husband Jason; grandson, Matthew Helms and wife Mandy; great-granddaughters, Autumn and Alexis Drye, Haley, Madison, and Dakota Helms (and a baby due in January); great-grandson, Haydon Freeman.

She was a faithful member of Roberta Baptist Church. Virginia retired from the former Cannon Mills Plant 15 as a supply clerk in May 1988 after more than 30 years.
