Virginia Furr

Virginia Lee Furr, 94, of Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Horizon Bay Assisted Living in Concord. Mrs. Furr was born May 22, 1919 to the late Claude and Garrie Poplin. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Furr in 1997; two brothers, Claude Poplin, Jr. and James Firth Poplin. The family will receive friends at Harrisburg United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 3:00pm until 4:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Toni Smith will follow at 4:00pm on Sunday. Burial will be held at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11:00am. She is survived by her son, Larry Furr and wife Jean of Harrisburg; two granddaughters, Leslie Furr of Charlotte and Mandy Furr of George Town, Cayman Islands; three sisters, Lucille Crowell, Imogene Morton and Joann Whitley; one brother, Jerry Poplin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County 5003 Hospice Ln. Kannapolis, NC 28081. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Furr family.
