Mary Virginia Huneycutt Hartsell, 92, of Stanfield, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, December 8, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Virginia was born April 12, 1932 in Stanly County to the late David Arey Huneycutt and the late Roxie Ann Burgess Huneycutt.
She was also preceded in death by husband of 61 years William Jason Hartsell, son, Billy Jason Hartsell.Virginia was the last of her 13 brothers and sisters.
She retired from Wiscasset Mills. Her hobbies were sewing, basket weaving, gardening, and canning. Her favorite times were spent laughing and watching the grandchildren play.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 13, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Big Lick Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Jeff Springer. Burial will follow at the Big Lick Baptist Church Cemetery at 626 Big Lick Road, Oakboro.
Survivors include son, David Andrew (Marlene) Hartsell, Sr. of Red Cross; daughter, Elaine (Dale) Allman of Cleveland, NC; grandchildren, Tonia Hartsell Thorpe, Anita (Chris) Stevens, David Andrew (Tara) Hartsell, Jr., Jason (Jennifer) Hartsell, and Justin Hartsell; 17 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
