Virginia Hicks

Virginia Lee Hicks, 90, of Fairview, NC, formerly of South Point, OH, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia was born October 25, 1932 in Wayne County, WV to the late George Burgess Pelfrey and the late Minnie Lee Pelfrey.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Thomas Hicks; daughter-in-law, Linda Hicks; granddaughter, Rebekah Hicks; and brother, Don Pelfrey.

Survivors include her son, Stephen Hicks and wife Belinda; daughter, Pam Neff and husband Ted; grandchildren, Stephanie Rogone and husband Anthony; Jason Hicks; Adam Neff; Erin Cole and husband Joe; step-grandson, Matthew Traugott; great-grandchildren, John Rogone, Landon Hicks, Clyde Cole and Shepard Cole; sister, Clarice Waggoner; sister, Nancy Newton and husband Jim; sister, Shirley Berger and husband Jon; sister, Mary Allen; brother, Jimmy Pelfrey and wife Donna; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Virginia was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church for more than 25 years, and dearly loved her church family.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be truly missed.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Ave., Midland, NC.  The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, officiated by her son Preacher Steve, grandson-in-law Rev. Anthony Rogone and nephew Rev. Phillip Morris.
