Virginia Holbrooks

Virginia H. Holbrooks, 68, of Hwy. 200, Stanfield, NC, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010, at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast, Concord, NC. Mrs. Holbrooks was born August 12, 1941, in Mecklenburg County to Charles and Alta Smith Hickman who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by an infant son. She was a homemaker and spent many years as a secretary/bookkeeper for B. E. Holbrooks in Stanfield. Visitation will be Sunday, May 9, 6 – 8 p.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be Monday, 4:00 p.m., First Baptist of Stanfield, with a 30 minute state. Rev. Bruce League will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times the family will be at the home. Survivors include her husband, Bill Edward Holbrooks of the home; sons, Brad and wife, Melissa Holbrooks and Brent and wife, Dot Holbrooks, all of Stanfield; brother, Charles Hickman of Lake Wiley, S. C.; and grandchildren, Byron and Courtney and Hailey and Kc, all of Stanfield.
