Virginia James

Mrs. Virginia Brumley James, 93, of Concord, passed away Friday, December 6, 2019 at Morningside Assisted Living in Concord.

Mrs. James was born June 16, 1926 in Concord to the late Thomas and Maggie Brumley.  She was also preceded in death by beloved husband, Hubert C. James; five brothers and one sister.

Mrs. James was a longtime member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church.  She loved to watch the things she planted grow.  She also enjoyed bird-watching.  Mrs. James had a lot of love to give.  She dearly loved her family, friends and coworkers.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Survivors include son, Skee James of Concord; son, Reid James and wife, Susan, of Belmont; grandson, Matthew James; granddaughter, Ashley James; and three great-grandchildren, Liam Matthew, Scarlet Virginia, and Noelle Eve Cross; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Friday, December 13, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.  The funeral service will be on Friday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Suzanne Dornsmith.  Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
