Virginia Miller

Mrs. Virginia Harvey Broome Miller, 85, of 1503 South Ridge Avenue, Kannapolis, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at her residence. Born May 25, 1925 in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Laney and Addie Virginia Starnes Broome. A visitation will be held at Roberta Baptist Church on Monday July 5, 2010 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Steve Pennington officiating. Internment will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis following the service. Mrs. Miller was a member of Roberta Baptist Church and a graduate of Indian Trail High School. She was the manager of Woolworth Department Store. She later retired on disability in the hosiery industry. She is preceeded in death by her parents; first husband, Willard "Bill" Barbee; second husband, Hugh Miller; four brothers and six sisters. She is survived by sisters, Grace Nickelson, of Kannapolis and Frances Cunningham, of Monroe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
